Place your order online or through the post

Look around this site. Decide between a great value edible photo and a fantastic caricature or even both. Maybe a caricature on the main birthday cake and edible photos on fairy cakes, the choice is yours. Just can click on the shop, follow the simple steps with the choice of paying online or sending a cheque. You can also place your order over the phone or alternatively send the complete order through the post (see contact for address details), with photo and details.

Give instrutions of alterations

Take a look at the alterations page. Decide if you require any manipulation of your image and include these details with your order.

Send your photographs, artwork. graph, logo or drawing.

Whateve your image, photo, drawing, office document, logo, graph or anything else you can think of can be sent to pics@eatyourphoto.co.uk leaving some reference to your order. This can be your order no.(which you will receive after you have completed your order), or your name and address. Alternatively, if you prefer, you can send your image through the post (see contact for address details).

We will process your order.

When we have received your order it will then be processed, if SPEED SERVICE has been selected this will be on the same day, otherwise normal processing time is 2-3 days.

View your caricature proof (if ordered)

If it is a caricature that you have ordered you will need to proof your image before your it is dispatched. We will send a proof via e-mail, if there is anything you would like changed we will see to it before sending out your completed order. Please allow 5 working days before receiving the proof.

Take receipt of your edible photo.

Your order will arrive packed in a hard backed envelope, sandwiched between cardboard to keep your image totally secure. It will arrive in a sealed polythene sheath to protect and keep fresh and you will also receive full instructions.

Prepare your cake.

You will need a cake. This can be one you have baked yourself or one bought locally from a supermarket or baker Your edible photo can be applied to almost any kind of icing such as fondant/sugar paste, royal icing, buttercream, etc.Problems only arise when the icing is too wet, this can cause the colours to bleed and affect the quality of the image.If a wet icing (eg fresh cream) is desired all is not lost. Cut a thin layer of sugar paste to the size of your photo and apply your image to that before placing on your cake.

Attach your edible image

Take your edible photo out of it's plastic sheath about 20 minutes before you apply it to your cake. This will allow it to dry sufficiently to fall away from it's backing.
If the air is too humid for it to dry, one of the following methods should be used to aid the drying process:-
- Use a hairdryer, on hot, on the reverse of the photo for 1 minute.
- Place on a hot plate or baking sheet for 2 mins.(this should be just to hot to touch).
- Place in the freezer for 15 minutes.
If the image still does not easily lift from it's backing DO NOT PANIC repeat one of the above processes until it does.

Decorate (if required)

Your masterpiece is nearly complete. Pipe decoration around your cake as desired. There is no problem piping directly over the photo if you want to.

Give to lucky recipient

Now reveal your work of art to the lucky receiver.
